St John's has a close relationship with Roots Christian Community, a church network linked with the Church Mission Society (CMS) that is also in Great Horton.

Roots is a network of organic, missional church communities seeking to engage a variety of sub cultures in a church experience whilst also uncovering something of the simplistic, missional DNA that the early church demonstrated.
 

Churches that are part of the Roots network are encouraged to grow organically as a result of their missional activity, but also to foster a church planting culture by continually planting new indigenous faith communities as they grow. We believe that small is beautiful.
